Steven Milgrim, LPC, LSATP

Steven has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Marymount University. He has been working in the mental health field since 1987 and has been licensed as a Professional Counselor and Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner in Virginia since 2000.

Steven enjoys working with adolescents and adults as individuals, couples, families and groups.  Having worked in group homes, shelters, community living centers, outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, residential treatment facilities, and private practice, Steven has the ability utilize a variety of effective approaches to ensure that each client is treated as an individual.




Sharlene Hamilton, LPC

Sharlene Hamilton graduated from Argosy University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is currently a licensed professional counseler in Counseling working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has experience providing individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. Sharlene has provided services to address anxiety, depression, peer relationship and social skills difficulties, ADHD, high functioning Autism Spectrum/ Asperger's Syndrome, oppositional behavior problems, grief & loss issues, parental separation/divorce, trauma, relationship difficulties, and social phobias.

She uses a variety of techniques to include play and expressive therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy techniques and works to develop an individual approach to treatment with clients to help them navigate through their difficulties. She is an experienced group therapist with groups focused on helping children develop effective social skills using a variety of play and expressive therapy interventions. She is a compassionate professional who believes that people have the ability to know the answers to overcoming their problems when provided a safe and confidential environment.

Sharlene believes a strong working relationship between client and counselor allows for trust and healing. Sharlene is a retired soldier and a military spouse. Karen Trivett, LPC, MAED

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience working in the helping field. I am experienced in providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I am passionate about holistic healing and want to work with my clients to discover their inner strength. I will help my clients work through anxiety, depression, relationship/marital difficulties, grief & loss difficulties, parental separation/divorce, trauma/PTSD, suicidal ideation/self-harm, peer relationship and social skills difficulties, ADHD, and behavioral Issues.

I understand the challenges that individuals and families are facing and use mindfulness based treatments, stress management, CBT, as well as offering clients insight into the power they have to help themselves. I encourage clients to recognize their inner strength and use that strength to improve the quality of their life and relationships.




Nicole Ronayne, MA, NCC

Nicole Ronayne attended The George Washington University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is currently a Resident in Counseling and is working towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia, under the supervision of Mr. Steven Milgrim, LPC, LSATP. Nicole is a dedicated and passionate professional who believes in the healing power of connection, change, and individual empowerment. Her approach to counseling is based in theories that encourage personal exploration of ourselves, our experiences, and how we relate to others in order to gain valuable insight, awareness, and understanding that can begin to shed light on patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and internal conflicts. Nicole also believes in the importance of learning and using healthy/functional coping tools and skills that promote resiliency, self-regulation, positive self-esteem, and that work to better prepare us to navigate the ups and downs of life and/or the processing of painful memories or experiences without compromising ourselves. Clients working with Nicole can expect her to create a safe, compassionate, empathic, confidential, and collaborative space where clients are encouraged to take the time they need for themselves.

Nicole has experience providing individual and group therapy working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience providing services to address depression, anxiety, transition/adjustment issues, prenatal/perinatal/postpartum mental health issues, grief and loss, trauma, substance use, domestic violence, anger management, self-harm, stress, and relational issues. Nicole has also worked with persons involved with the legal system to include persons convicted of federal crimes and those on probation/parole.

Nicole is a Nationally Certified Counselor and is a member of the American Counseling Association, Virginia Counseling Association, and Chi Sigma Iota Professional Honors Society.




Christina Berben, MA

My approach to therapy is integrative, strength-based, and holistic. I am trained in nutritional and integrative medicine for mental health professionals; as a result, I focus on how health and wellbeing impact mental health.
